Submitted to St. John’s by Carolyn George
Executive Council officers for 2024 were elected.
A request for proposal for Pilot on Alternative Property Use for Holy Innocents will be finalized and available from Canon Debbie. She will pursue how to get wide distribution.
Church Insurance will present changes to premiums and earthquake insurance to all congregations in the Diocese by a December webinar. The eleven parishes most affected by reductions in earthquake insurance have already had meetings with the agent.
Despite expecting to have hired the new Canon for Racial, Social, and Environmental Justice before the end of the year, Bishop Marc has decided to postpone the search until the co-adjutor election. He will try to keep the current candidates in the search, and the co-adjutor will participate with Bishop Marc in the selection process.

The deadline for Assessment Relief applications is September 30, 2023.

Submitted to St. John’s by Carolyn George
Budget for New Bishop Search Committee was approved at $210,000, which is the amount that had been accrued for this purpose. The Nominating Convention line item has been transferred to Communications and will not be subtracted from the $210k total.
A cash compensation range has been approved for the new Bishop.
EC passed diocesan budget by majority, with two associated proposals:
1) Form a committee to assess the amount of money needed to accrue budget funds for maintenance of DioHouse and the two
rectories owned by the Diocese.
2) Ask Michele to add COLAs to monies being accrued for future ministries/events.
3) Ask Michele to add the FTE count for each budget category prior to distribution of the budget to Deaneries.
EC 2024 Retreat. Ranch proposal for 2024 was $18k. Council agreed to reduce the cost and authorized Vice Chair Kirsten Spalding to target approximately $10k to enable her to 1) negotiate with the Ranch for a lower cost; 2) find an alternative to the Ranch; or 3) figure out how to alter the schedule to reduce costs. She will come back to the EC if she needs to ask for a higher amount.
New Bishop election process is well underway. Some key upcoming dates:
