Campus Committee
The Campus Committee oversees maintenance and improvement projects for the buildings and grounds. The committee is responsible for keeping the master plan up to date and identifying and prioritizing projects. The Parish Administrator serves on this committee and manages the St. John's rental properties.
Landscape Committee
The Landscape Committee is dedicated to enhancing and beautifying St. John’s property. This group of environmentally-minded volunteers meets to discuss any business on the second Tuesday of the month at 4:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. (alternating to accommodate members’ different schedules), and meets to weed and maintain the Meditation Garden or other areas of the church property on the first Saturday of the month at 9:00 a.m.
The Landscape Committee created the Meditation Garden, located below the church driveway at the top of the stairs leading to the patio and church entrance. This garden is planted with native, drought tolerant shrubs and perennials and features gravel paths, a natural rock fountain, teak benches, and a Little Free Library. Originally conceived under the shade of an old-growth oak tree, when the tree became diseased and had to be removed, the plantings suffered from sun exposure. To adapt to the changed conditions, the garden was redesigned and replanted in 2019.
St. John’s is situated on 4 acres of land and needs extensive landscape maintenance. A gardener comes for a few hours once a week, primarily caring for the patio beds and other areas immediately surrounding the church building, and much of the work is done by volunteers during three annual parish work days. The Landscape Committee acts as a liaison with the gardener and comes out in full force for the parish work days.
Liturgy Review Committee
The Liturgy Review Committee explores alternative ways to use our liturgy and new and different ways to worship together as a community, while also becoming more attractive to potential new members.
Communications Committee
This committee keeps everyone informed and oversees effective technologies to serve our many initiatives and constituencies. It produces the Friday email and Sunday bulletin, coordinates stories for the blog (The Mouse), and updates the website, facebook, and instagram accounts.
Finance Committee
The Finance Committee creates the budget and manages the finances of the church. The head of the finance committee serves as an advisor to the Vestry and coordinates the Money Ministry volunteers who count the offerings collected during services.
Endowment Committee
The Endowment Committee manages the St. John's endowment funds.
Personnel Committee
The Personnel Committee is responsible for hiring the staff, evaluating their performance, and managing their benefits.
