About the Deanery Delegates
The Episcopal Diocese of California is organized into six deaneries (groups of congregations). St. John's belongs to the Alameda County deanery, consisting of 14 churches.
St. John's has six deanery delegates - four lay, two ordained. The number of delegates is based on parish active members. Deanery responsibilities include attending quarterly deanery meetings, the annual Diocesan Convention in October, and participating in the community of St. John's. Each delegate serves for one year and may be re-elected in subsequent years.
