Advent Lessons & Carols
Sunday, December 5 • 10:00 am
Join us for a celebration of the season as we sing “Oh Come Oh Come Emmanuel,”
“Lo How a Rose E're Blooming,” and other Advent hymns. Advent is a time of preparation to greet the coming of the Christ child. We spiritually open our eyes to be ready to receive the gift God is about to give us.

Contemporary Christmas
Saturday, December 11 • 5:00 pm
This interactive service will be an early celebration of Christmas. It will include reading the Christmas story and small group discussions. Our Saturday evening service band, a local young Episcopal group, will be playing upbeat, jazzy Christmas music. Join us for a festive reception afterwards.
Blue Christmas Service
Sunday, December 19 • 7:45 am & 10:00 am
Find hope, comfort, and healing in this service at a time when people might be feeling sad or lonely. While this is supposed to be a season of joy, some people feel especially blue. The service coincides with the winter solstice, the shortest day and longest night of the year. It is a time when we reflect on the darkness that surrounds us and remember that Christmas is about light coming into our dark world.
Christmas Eve Family Service
Friday, December 24 • 4:30 pm
A worship service commemorating and rejoicing in Christ on the eve of his birth with songs, prayers and celebration. This service is family friendly and every child can play a role in the Christmas pageant. We recommend arriving early as this is our most popular service.
Christmas Eve Service
Friday, December 24 • 9:00 pm
A worship service commemorating and rejoicing in Christ on the eve of his birth with songs, prayers and celebration. This is traditionally what many churches would call midnight mass, but we do it a little earlier.
Christmas Day Service
Saturday, December 25 • 10:00 am
This is traditionally a small intimate service celebrating the birth of Jesus.
Christmas Lessons & Carols
Sunday, December 26 • 10:00 am
Join us for a final celebration of the season as we sing “Joy to the World,” “Come All Ye Faithful,” “Silent Night” and many other favorite Christmas carols, celebrating the birth of the Christ child. Everybody is welcome to sing along!
Drive-Through Nativity
December 17 - 26 • 5:00 - 8:00 pm
St. John's is offering its second annual "drive-through nativity" experience. There will be Christmas lights, life-sized, still-life scenes from the Nativity story and much more. Tune in to a special radio station upon arrival to listen to carols that tell the Christmas story. This event will be held on site at the church, 1707 Gouldin Road in Montclair (Oakland). The event is free and open to the general public, with attendees enjoying the experience from their cars. This event is closed on Christmas Eve, December 24, due to church services.
The nativity story plays on a loop at 107.9FM. You can also play the story from here as you drive along from the download file button below.
