Kellor Smith
​Youth and Family Services Director

Kellor joined St. John’s over 35 years ago.  During her tenure she has helped develop new programs for St. John’s youth and also guided many individual youth through hands-on relationships.  Kellor co-created Confirm Not Conform and has developed and led a series of mission trips for youth, including rebuilding projects in New Orleans and Puerto Rico after hurricanes and work on Indian Reservations in Idaho, Wyoming and Washington.  To honor her service to children and youth, a scholarship was named in her honor at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific, the Episcopal seminary in Berkeley. 

Kellor graduated from Mills College in Oakland with a double major in Child Psychology and Children’s Television.  She began her career writing language arts curriculum for the Oakland and Richmond Public Schools based on national TV shows and working for local TV stations.  A fifth generation Oaklander, Kellor continues to live in Oakland with her husband, Scott, and her two children, Abigail and Evan.
