Samyukta (pronouns they/them) is overjoyed to join the team at St. Johns and to be working in a spiritual community again. They have been a part of a variety of spiritual communities as a member, volunteer, and youth. They studied history, math, education, and Yoga and are currently working toward a masters in divinity degree in Buddhist chaplaincy at the Institute of Buddhist Studies, in Berkeley. Before coming to SJEC, they were a chaplain resident, math teacher, and library page. Their love of community and belonging comes from joining/founding study/book/activity groups, recruiting and leading volunteers in projects, and volunteering in a kitchen, carceral system, and elder care facility. They enjoy indoor rock climbing, knitting, glamping, queer talent shows, deviating from recipes and sharing the results.
