The Pastoral Care Team and the St. John's Cycle of Prayer

Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 4:11

We wanted to share some news with you from your Pastoral Care Team. Our mission is to integrate pastoral care into the daily lives of our congregation through prayer, communication and support. In times of need, we provide assistance for those that request pastoral or logistical support.

A few months ago the Pastoral Care Team discussed our Prayers of the People. We questioned why we did not include the St. John's clergy and staff when we pray for the leaders of our church. We decided it was a good thing to do, so you may have noticed that we now include the St. John's clergy and staff in our Cycle of Prayer.

In true Episcopal tradition we not only use the Anglican and Diocesan Cycle of Prayers but also pray for every member of our church in a Cycle of Prayer.

With grateful hearts, Scott Denman, Ann Hallisey, Elaine Reichert, Frank Sterling, Sandra Ahn, Linda Manzi, Ray Riess and Betsy Robinson.

Prayer Partners
Prayer Partners is an informal group that regularly prays for those with special needs or requests.  We may share thanksgivings and/or offer petitions.  All information is strictly confidential.  If you have a prayer need or would like to be a part of Prayer Partners, please contact Sandra Ahn at 510-290-2850 or by email at sjahn_vienna@yahoo.com.  Prayer requests are shared by email or phone.

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Prayer Request Cards
These cards are in the church pews and in the narthex. You are encouraged to take one to share with others or to keep with you. When a concern arises, you may fill out the card and drop it in Sandra Ahn’s mailbox or mail it to the church office. Requests are added to our prayer list each week and will remain on the prayer list for four weeks, unless renewed for a longer period.
