2010 Lenten Women's Retreat

Passing Over into Easter: A Mystical Exodus from Old to New Testament

Mar 5 - 7

Join us on a transformative journey from the confines of ancient Egypt, through the parted Red Sea and on into the feast of Freedom in the Promised Land. This year's Women's Retreat will unpack the rituals and symbols of the Passover Seder and Last Supper as an interpretive springboard for personal and communal reflection and refreshment, reconnection and yes, even resurrection.

We will embrace both the ridiculous and the sublime in an integrated flow that provides time and space for intimate sharing, meditative stillness, game-night silliness, delicious meals, body-prayer, nature walks, Spiritual Direction, art-as-meditation, worship, massage, and of course the natural hilarity of wine, women and song. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll feel the love, the light and the healing wisdom of the extraordinary women in this community, and of your own soul.

Our tour guide and facilitator will be Andrea Bryck, an Intrafaith Spiritual Director, from Mercy Center with a MA in Creativity and Spirituality. A life-long artist, and teacher/student of the mystical traditions of East and West for over 35 years, Andrea is a founding member of Unity of Berkeley, and was Senior Prayer Chaplain & Trainer. After many years in Marketing Communications, Andrea now devotes herself to providing ‘supportive services for the inspired life.'

Suzy Tindall, also and artist and educator and also with a MA in Creativity in Spirituality, will lead our Saturday afternoon art-as-meditation activities to enrich the experience and deepen out understanding and the connections between us.
