Uganda
St. John's has a long history of involvement with the Diocese of Rwanzori, in Uganda, and an active Uganda Group supporting this ministry. In 2001, the Rector and five other St. John’s members traveled to Fort Portal, Uganda, to help build offices for an orphan program, and to assist the program in many other ways. At least 28 Ugandan orphans are supported by individual members or families at St. John’s. This is an exciting, growing involvement that has touched many lives, here and in Uganda. We recently funded the building of a new well, now providing clean water for hundreds of people.
